Zhang Xi (), formally the Duke of Pingyuan (平原公), was a Chinese historian and politician during the Tang dynasty and the Wu Zhou dynasty, serving as chancellor on two occasions. Background It is not known when Zhang Xi was born, but it is known that he came from a line that had served for generations as officials of Northern Wei, Northern Qi, Sui dynasty, and Tang dynasty. Zhang Xi's father Zhang Wencong (張文琮) served as a deputy minister during the reign of Emperor Gaozong of Tang, and his uncle Zhang Wenguan served as a chancellor. Zhang Xi (PRC Politician)
Zhang Xi (; 1 February 1912 – 8 January 1959) was a Chinese Communist revolutionary and politician. He was the first Chinese Communist Party Committee Secretary of Henan province of the People's Republic of China, and one of the founding members of the State Planning Commission. He died of nasopharynx cancer in 1959, at the age of 46. During the Cultural Revolution, he was posthumously denounced as a traitor, and his ashes were exhumed and discarded. Republic of China Zhang Xi was born 1 February 1912 in Dongtian Village, Pingxiang County, Hebei province. His original name was Wang Changzhen (). In 1931, while a student at the Provincial No. 4 Normal School in Xingtai, he joined the Communist Youth League of China, and later became its leader. Zhang Xi (beach Volleyball)
Zhang Xi (simplified Chinese: 张希; traditional Chinese: 張希; pinyin: Zhāng Xī; born 19 April 1985) is a Chinese beach volleyball player. She won the bronze medal in the women's team competition at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and the gold medal at the 2013 Beach Volleyball World Championships, partnering with Xue Chen. In 2004, she moved on to start playing full-time in the Swatch FIVB World Tour. In 2006, she began to team up with Xue Chen in the SWATCH tournament season. After finishing the tournament she went back to study at the Physical Education Unit of Jiangsu Province in China. In 2008, Zhang was named as the FIVB Most Outstanding Player. Zhang Xi (chemist)
Zhang Xi (; born December 1965) is a Chinese chemist and the current president of Jilin University. He is a chemist and a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Early life Zhang was born in Benxi, Liaoning in 1965, he received his bachelor's degree in chemistry from Jilin University. He then received his masters and Ph.D. degrees in chemistry from the same university in 1989 and 1992 respectively. Career Zhang became a lecturer at Jilin University from 1993 to 1994. Xi Zhang (; born 1984 in Kaifeng, China) is a contemporary artist who lives and works in China and the United States. Biography Zhang moved to the United States in 2004 after studying painting at the Beijing Institute of Art and Design. He then studied at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in Denver and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting in 2008. That same year, the Denver Post selected Zhang as th2008 Emerging Artist of the Yearfor his “well developed, surprising mature vision.” In 2011, Zhang was commissioned by CNN to do a painting about post 9/11.
