Zhang Jie (writer)
Zhang Jie (, 27 April 1937 – 21 January 2022) was a Chinese novelist and short-story writer. In the meanwhile, she was also the co-author of a biography of the film director Wu Zuguang in 1986. She worked on writing different kinds of books for or with young protagonists, these types of works are included in junior and senior high school textbooks in China. She is one of China's first contributors to feminist fiction. In Zhang Jie's works, she mainly worked on the themes of "people" and "love", she often emphasizes the emotions and relationships between mother and daughter, which was formed mainly by early poverty and the fierce protection of her mother. Zhang Jie (scientist)
Zhang Jie (; born January 31, 1958) is a Chinese physicist. He served as President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University from November 2006 to February 2017. He was elected a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2003. He was elected to the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina on March 28, 2007. He was elected as foreign associate of the US National Academy of Sciences in 2012. Biography Zhang Jie was born in 1958 in Taiyuan, Shanxi, China. He received both his bachelor's degree and master's degree from Inner Mongolia University, and his Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 1988. From 1988 to 1998, he was a visiting scholar at the Max Planck Society in Germany and at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in the United Kingdom. Nan Quan Mama () is a Taiwanese music group. The name is a phrase in Mandarin to explain having strength while being gentle as a mother. They are closely tied with the well-known artist Jay Chou, but it was revealed after Lara and Chase Chang went solo that the name came from Jay's pen name when he was in high school when he started writing songs, and it was meant to mean 'Nan Quan's Mother', so it was actually a metaphor for Jay's mother.
