Zendik Farm
Zendik Farm, officially known as Zendik Farm Arts Cooperative, was an American intentional community of artists and assorted craftspeople that went through several iterations and locations between 1969 and 2013. They presented themselves as a living laboratory for a way of living based on a feeling of reverence for the Earth; and supported themselves through the sale of literature and merchandise promoting their beliefs and displaying their artistic statements. The community has sometimes been described as a cult. The Zendiks spent years in Texas during the eighties and were frequently seen on their television program on the local Austin Access station. Wulf Zendik
Wulf Zendik (born Lawrence E. Wulfing, in El Paso, Texas, October 7, 1920 – June 12, 1999) was an American author, poet, musician, environmentalist, and bohemian who founded Zendik Farm along with his wife. He was the author of the novel ''A Quest Among The Bewildered,'' ''Blackhawk: Diary of an Eco-Warrior'', and ''Zendik''. and described himself as an "undiscovered Beat." Wulfing founded the community Zendik (also known as Zendik Arts Farm), located in Florida, Southern California, Texas, North Carolina, and West Virginia at various times, with his wife/partner Carol Merson (also known as Arol Wulf). After Zendik's death, Zendik Farm continued Zendik's philosophy by promoting the arts and an environmentally sound lifestyle. Marlinton, West Virginia
Marlinton is a town in and the county seat of Pocahontas County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 998 at the 2020 census. Located along the Greenbrier River, it is known for its scenery. History Marlinton is named for Jacob Marlin, who, along with Stephen Sewell, became the first non-native settlers west of the Allegheny Mountains, in the Greenbrier Valley in 1749.
