Zemfira Tsakhilova
Zemfira Avramovna Tsakhilova (, ; born 24 April 1943) is a Soviet and Russian actress and teacher. She is a member of the Board of the Central House of Artists, an Honored Artist of the North Ossetian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic and Honored Artist of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. Biography Tsakhilova was born in the town of Alagir, in North Ossetia-Alania. In 1966 she graduated from Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute. While studying, she played in the Vakhtangov Theater. Then she worked at Mossovet Theater. At the end of the 60s, the theater team, along with Vadim Beroev and Tatyana Bestayeva was part of the so-called “Ossetian village” - a group of young but already very popular artists. In the 70s, Tsakhilova left the theater, completely leaving for cinema. From 1966 to 1982, she played more than 30 roles in Soviet films. Alagir
Alagir (; ) is an industrial town and the administrative center of Alagirsky District in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Russia, located on the west bank of the Ardon River, west of the republic's capital Vladikavkaz. As of the 2010 Census, its population was 20,949. Etymology The name is derived from Ossetian Uællag 'Upper' and Ir 'Ossetia'. History The town was established in 1850 by Prince Mikhail Semyonovich Vorontsov, the Viceroy of the Caucasus, near an ancient silver/lead mine in the nearby Alagir Gorge. It was built up as a fortification around a smelting plant and became a major mining center. By the end of the 19th century, it had been increasingly populated by Georgians and Russians who came to work there.
