Zelma Davis
Zelma Davis is a Liberian-born American singer-songwriter. She is primarily known for her number-one dance hits "Things That Make You Go Hmmm..." and "Here We Go (Let's Rock & Roll)" with C+C Music Factory, as well as for her presence as the ostensible singer in the music video of the latter's international club hit "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)". She has won four American Music Awards, five Billboard Music Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, and a Grammy Award nomination with the group. Black Box (band)
Black Box is an Italian house music group popular in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The group is currently made up of DJ Daniele Davoli, classically trained clarinet teacher Valerio Semplici, keyboardist and electronic musician Mirko Limoni, and vocalist Celestine Walcott-Gordon. French fashion model Katrin Quinol joined the act in 1989 and became the official face of Black Box, appearing on the cover of their single and album releases as well as in music videos, including the hit " Ride on Time", which was the highest-selling single of 1989 in the UK. It was written by Paul Jabara and Bruce Roberts (singer), Bruce Roberts, and produced by Giorgio Moroder and Gary Klein (producer), Gary Klein. The song was recorded for Streisand's ''Wet (album), Wet'' album (1979) and also as a new track for Summer's compilation double album ''On the Radio: Greatest Hits Volumes I & II'' (1979). The full-length version was found on Streisand's album, while a longer 11-minute edit (the 12" version) was featured on Summer's album. Bobbie Merveille (born 1983) better known by her stage names DJ Heavygrinder and Marie Vaunt is an American disc jockey. Biography Merveille was born in Seattle, Washington to a French father and a Japanese mother. She was raised in Japan's Kanagawa Prefecture, where she lived until the age of 14. While in her teens, her parents decided that she would receive education in the United States. She soon got involved in the art of DJing after returning to the US. In regards to this period, DJ Heavygrinder stated: The genres of music she plays are house, electronica, indie, and trance. ''Anything Goes!'' is the second album by the US dance group C+C Music Factory. The album's lead single " Do You Wanna Get Funky"; which featured Martha Wash, Zelma Davis, and Trilogy, reached number 1 on the Dance/Club Play charts, number 40 on the Hot 100, and number 11 on the R&B Singles chart. The follow-up single, "Take a Toke" reached number 23 on the Dance/Club Play and 48 on the R&B Singles chart. David Stephen Koz (born March 27, 1963) is an American saxophonist, composer, record producer, and radio personality based in Los Angeles, California. Early life Dave Koz was born in Encino, California, to Jewish parents: Norman, a dermatologist and Audrey, a pharmacist. Dave has a brother, Jeff, who is also a musician, and a sister, Roberta. Although he is Jewish, Koz plays both Christmas and occasional Hanukkah songs at his concerts.
