Zam Zam Abdullahi Abdi is a Somali journalist and human rights activist who focuses in particular on the rights of women and children. She is a dual citizen of Somalia and Kenya. Activism Abdi is the capacity building officer for the Coalition of Grassroots Women's Organizations and chairperson of the Somali Chapter of the African Network for the Prevention and Protection against Child Abuse and Neglect. Abdi works for easier access to education for Somali women. Kidnapping In 2004, while in charge of information for the Association of Somali Women Journalists, Abdi was abducted and held by armed individuals from 24 October to the 25th in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. Zamzam Abdi Adan () is a Somali politician, who served as the Minister of Education and Science of Somaliland from July 2010 to February 2015, becoming the first female minister to hold this position. In February 2015, after a cabinet reshuffle she was appointed as Minister of Finance where she served until the end of Silanyo's administration. She was one of four ministers who served throughout Silanyo's administration from 2010 to 2017, along Saad Ali Shire, Mohamoud Hashi Abdi and Khalil Abdillahi Ahmed. Zamzam Ibrahim is a student politician who was the President of the UK National Union of Students (NUS) from 2019 to 2020. She is also the President and a founding trustee of Students Organising for Sustainability. She succeeded Shakira Martin. She was formerly the NUS Vice President of Society & Citizenship. This followed her term as Salford Students' Union President 2017-2018 and Vice-President of Business and Law 2015–2016. The Zamzam Well ( ) is a well located within the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It is located east of the Kaaba, the holiest place in Islam. In the Islamic teachings, the well is a miraculously generated source of water, which opened up thousands of years ago when Ismaʿil (Ishmael), the son of Ibrahim (Abraham), was left with his mother Hajar (Hagar) in the desert.
