''The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights'' is the tenth installment of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)-produced reality television series ''The Ultimate Fighter''. In a press conference following ''UFC 98'', Dana White announced that filming for the season would begin on June 1, 2009. The season debuted on Spike TV on September 16, 2009, following UFC Fight Night 19. The UFC and Spike TV held an open casting call at The Marriott Seattle Airport Hotel in Seattle, Washington, on April 6, 2009. Brendan Peter Schaub (born March 18, 1983) is an American podcast host, former professional mixed martial artist, and stand-up comedian. He is the host of '' The Fighter and the Kid'' podcast, the ''Below the Belt with Brendan Schaub'' podcast, and co-host of the ''Golden Hour'' podcast, along with fellow comedians Chris D'Elia and Erik Griffin. James McSweeney (born 24 October 1980) is a British retired kickboxer and mixed martial artist. A professional since 2005, McSweeney is best known for being a cast member of Spike TV's '' The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights'' and competing in the UFC, but he has also competed in major European promotions such as KSW, Cage Rage and BAMMA. Trevor Wittman (born March 5, 1974) is an American boxing and mixed martial arts coach. He is the founder of ONX Sports, a combat sports equipment company based in Golden, Colorado. Jackson Wink MMA Academy (formerly known as Jackson's Submission Fighting) is a mixed martial arts gym based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
