Zahara Nakiyaga, also Zahra Nakiyaga is a beauty pageant contestant who was crowned Miss Uganda 2015 at the age of 23 years. She represented Uganda in Miss World 2015 in Sanya, China, in December 2015. Early life and education Background Nakiyaga was born to Hajjati Mariam Nabwire, a housewife, and Hajji Muhammed Kiyaga, a businessman, in Wakiso District, in the Central Region, Uganda, Buganda Region of Uganda, circa 1992. After attending local primary and secondary schools, she was admitted to Makerere University, Uganda's oldest and largest public university. Dora Mwima, also Dorah Mwima is a Ugandan model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Uganda 2008 at the age of 18. She represented Uganda in Miss World 2008 in South Africa. Background Mwima was born to Ugandan parents in 1990, in the Eastern Ugandan town of Tororo. Her father, a preacher, and the family migrated to neighboring Kenya when Dorah was about four years old. The family returned to Uganda in 2008, two weeks before the call for contestants in the Miss Uganda beauty competition went out. Ganda People
The Baganda (endonym: ''Baganda''; singular ''Muganda''), are a Bantu ethnic group native to Buganda, a subnational kingdom within Uganda. Miss Uganda or ''Miss Uganda World'' is a national beauty pageant in Uganda. History The Miss Uganda pageant started in 1967, with the winner always participating at the Miss World pageant, though having only one Miss Uganda reaching the finals since its inception.
