Zagore Beach
Zagore Beach (, ) faces False Bay on Livingston Island, Antarctica and extends for 4 km on the Rozhen Peninsula between Charity Glacier and the Ruen Icefall. The beach is surmounted by Canetti Peak (400 m) and MacKay Peak (approx 700 m). Surface area .L.L. Zagore (region)
Zagore ( ), also Zagorie (), Zagora (), or Zagoriya (), was a vaguely defined medieval region in what is now Bulgaria. Its name is of Slavic origin and means "beyond .e. south ofthe alkanmountains". The region was first mentioned as Ζαγόρια in Greek (in an Old Bulgarian translation it was rendered as Загорїа) when it was ceded to the First Bulgarian Empire by the Byzantine Empire during the rule of Tervel of Bulgaria in the very beginning of the 8th century ( Byzantine–Bulgarian Treaty of 716). From the context, Zagore can be defined as a region in northeastern Thrace. During the Second Bulgarian Empire, the region was also mentioned in Tsar Ivan Asen II of Bulgaria's post-1230 Dubrovnik Charter, which allowed Ragusan merchants to trade in the Bulgarian lands, among which "the whole Zagore" (пѡ всемѹ Загѡриѹ). Balkan Mountains
The Balkan mountain range is located in the eastern part of the Balkan peninsula in Southeast Europe, Southeastern Europe. It is conventionally taken to begin at the peak of Vrashka Chuka on the border between Bulgaria and Serbia. MacKay Peak
MacKay Peak is an ice-covered pyramidal peak rising to 770 m in Friesland Ridge, Tangra Mountains, Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. It is linked by Pleven Saddle to Tervel Peak to the east-northeast, and surmounts Peshtera Glacier to the north and Charity Glacier to the south. The peak is named after Captain Donald MacKay, Master of the US, American shallop ''Sarah'' who, while seal hunting in the islands in 1820–21, sent home a collection of minerals and rocks to the New York Lyceum of Natural History, forerunner of the American Museum of Natural History. Canetti Peak
Canetti Peak (, ) is a 400 m peak in the Friesland Ridge, Tangra Mountains, eastern Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. The peak has precipitous and ice-free western slopes and overlooks Zagore Beach and False Bay to the west and north, and Charity Glacier to the south. The peak was named after Elias Canetti (1905–1994), a Bulgarian-born Nobel laureate in literature. Location The peak is located at which is 1.06 km west-southwest of MacKay Peak, 2.13 km north by west of the summit of Veleka Ridge and 1.62 km south-southeast of Ogosta Point.
