Zadrima
Zadrima is an ethnographic region situated in north-western Albania between the cities of Shkodra and Lezha, located left of the Lower Drin which eventually drains into the Adriatic Sea from near Lezha. Geography The Zadrima Plain includes villages and settlements administratively split between the modern Shkodra ( Vau i Dejës Municipality) and Lezha (Lezhë Municipality) counties. Vau I Dejës
Vau i Dejës (), English: Deja's Ford, is a town and a municipality in Shkodër County, northwestern Albania. It was formed at the 2015 local government reform by the merger of the former municipalities Bushat, Hajmel, Shllak, Temal, Vau i Dejës, and Vig-Mnelë, that became municipal units. The seat of the municipality is the town Vau i Dejës. The total population is 30,438 (2011 census), in a total area of 499.35 km2. The population of the former municipality at the 2011 census was 8,117. Vau i Dejës (or Vau Dejës or Vau-Dejës) also refers to the city center for the municipality, which is sometimes referred to as Laç or Laç-Vau i Dejës. Paçram, Albania
Paçram is a settlement in the former Hajmel municipality, Shkodër County, northern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became part of the municipality Vau i Dejës. History Paçram is recorded in the Ottoman ''defters'' of 1571 and 1591 for the Sanjak of Dukagjin as a village in the kaza of Zadrima. In 1571 the settlement had a total of 7 households, while two decades later in 1591 it had slightly increased to total of 9. Paçram (''Pocerami'') is then recorded in 1641 by the Bishop of Sapë, Frang Bardhi, in a report on Zadrima. In his report, the village is listed as among the settlements belonging to the parish of Saint Pantaleon of Maba - where the locals travelled to in order to receive their sacraments. Bardhi also notes that Paçram had a total of 7 households. Lezhë
Lezhë (, sq-definite, Lezha) is a List of cities and towns in Albania, city in the Republic of Albania and seat of Lezhë County and Lezhë Municipality. It is one of Albania's List of oldest continuously inhabited cities, oldest continuously inhabited cities, with roughly 2,400 years of recorded history. One of the main strongholds of the Labeatae, Labeatai, the earliest of the fortification walls of Lezhë are of typical Illyrians, Illyrian construction and are dated to the late 4th century BC. Lezhë was one of the main centres of the Illyrian kingdom. During the conflicts with Macedon, it was captured by Philip V of Macedon, Philip V becoming the Macedonian outlet to the Adriatic Sea. Kodhel
Kodheli is a small village located in the center of Zadrima plain in the Lezhë County, northwestern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became part of the municipality Lezhë. Kodheli is located between the city of Lezhë to the south and Shkoder to the north in a distance of 14 km from the first and 20 km from the second. It has in majority an agricultural-based economy. The village has a primary school (form 1st grade to the 4th). After the 4th grade, children go to the next village Blinisht, not far from Kodheli to continue further grades. Furthermore, in the village there is the Catholic Church of 'Shen Rroku' and there is also a small medical center. The Church was built from the Italian priest Don Antonio Sciarra, who came to Albania in 1992 right after the fall of the communist regime. Fishtë
Fishtë is a settlement in the former Blinisht municipality, in Lezhë County, northwestern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became part of the municipality Lezhë. Sati (castle)
Sati (; ) was a medieval fortified town near Shkodër in contemporary Albania. Between 1395 and 1459, it passed through the control of the Venetian Republic, the Dukagjini family, the Ottoman Empire, and Skanderbeg, who razed it sometime after 1459. History Lordship of Zeta and Zaharia family Together with Scutari and the surrounding region, Sati was a part of the Lordship of Zeta until 1395. It belonged to the fief of Konstantin Balšić, who appointed Koja Zaharia as Sati's castellan. In 1395 Balša II ceded Sati, together with Scutari and Drivast, to the Venetian Republic in order to create a buffer zone between his lordship and the Ottoman Empire. Zaharia refused to allow Venetians to take control of Sati and proclaimed himself lord of Sati and Dagnum ''("dominus Sabatensis et Dagnensis")''. Dukagjini Family
The House of Dukagjini is an Albanian noble family which ruled over an area of Northern Albania and Western Kosovo known as the Principality of Dukagjini in the 14th and 15th centuries. They may have been descendants of the earlier Progoni family, who founded the first Albanian state in recorded history, the Principality of Arbanon. The city of Lezhë was their most important holding. Mirdita
Mirdita is a region of northern Albania whose territory is synonymous with the historic Albanian tribe of the same name. Etymology The name Mirdita derives from a legendary ancestor named Mir Diti from whom the tribe claims descent. Other alternative folk etymologies have been presented. Another folk etymology links the word to the Albanian greeting "mirëdita" meaning hello, "good day". Dajç, Lezhë
Dajç is a village and a former municipality in the Lezhë County, northwestern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision of the municipality Lezhë. The population at the 2023 census was 2,584. Dajç is located in the midspan between the city of Lezhë to the south and Shkodër to the north, from each. It has an agricultural-based economy, with many producing fields, but in need of better mechanics and organized market.
