Zach Logue
Zach Michael Logue (born April 23, 1996) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2022 with the Oakland Athletics. Amateur career Logue attended Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the University of Kentucky, where he played college baseball for the Kentucky Wildcats. In 2016, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Orleans Firebirds of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Professional career Toronto Blue Jays The Toronto Blue Jays selected Logue in the ninth round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft. Lansing Lugnuts
The Lansing Lugnuts are a Minor League Baseball team of the Midwest League and the High-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics. They are located in Lansing, Michigan, and play their home games at Jackson Field. The Midwest League came to Lansing after owners Tom Dickson and Sherrie Myers moved the team to work with the city for a public-private lease to build a new stadium. Mayor David Hollister, and the City Council worked to attract the owners and build the stadium for downtown economic development. The team began playing in downtown Lansing in 1996. Collegiate Summer Baseball
Collegiate summer baseball leagues are amateur baseball leagues in the United States and Canada featuring players who have attended at least one year of college and have at least one year of athletic eligibility remaining. Generally, they operate from early June to early August. In contrast to college baseball, which allow aluminum or other composite baseball bats, players in these leagues use only wooden bats, hence the common nickname of these leagues as "wood-bat leagues". Collegiate summer leagues allow college baseball players the ability to compete using professional rules and equipment, giving them experience and allowing professional scouts the opportunity to observe players under such conditions. Kevin Smith (baseball)
Kevin Smith (born July 4, 1996) is an American professional baseball shortstop for the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2021 with the Toronto Blue Jays. High school and college Smith graduated from Columbia High School in East Greenbush, New York, and later attended the University of Maryland, College Park. He played three seasons as the starting shortstop for the Maryland Terrapins. In his freshman season, Smith appeared in 66 games and recorded a .273 batting average, seven home runs, 35 runs batted in (RBI), and a team-leading 11 stolen bases. Gunnar Thomas Hoglund (born December 17, 1999) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Oakland Athletics organization. Hoglund played college baseball for the Ole Miss Rebels. Amateur career Hoglund graduated from Dayspring Academy in Port Richey, Florida, but since they do not offer any athletic teams, he played baseball for Fivay High School in Hudson, Florida. As a senior in 2018, he had a 7–0 win–loss record with a 0.27 earned run average (ERA). The Bluefield Blue Jays were a minor league baseball team of the Rookie Appalachian League representing the twin cities of Bluefield, West Virginia, and Bluefield, Virginia.
