Zach Aston-Reese
Zachary Aston-Reese (born August 10, 1994) is an American professional ice hockey forward for the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously played with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Anaheim Ducks, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Detroit Red Wings. Prior to turning professional, Aston-Reese played for Northeastern University. He was named a Hobey Baker hat trick finalist, Hockey East First-Team All-Star, and won Hockey East Player of the Year. Playing career Amateur While playing for the New Jersey Rockets of the Atlantic Junior Hockey League (AJHL) during the 2010–11 season, Aston-Reese also appeared in the United States Hockey League (USHL). He played two games for the Des Moines Buccaneers, as well as 25 games for the Lincoln Stars. Aston-Reese joined the Stars full-time for the 2011–12 season. The 2017–18 AHL season was the 82nd season of the American Hockey League. The regular season ran from October 6, 2017, to April 15, 2018. The Hockey East Association, also known as Hockey East, is a college ice hockey conference which operates entirely in New England. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a hockey-only conference. Hockey East came into existence in 1984 for men's hockey when most of its current members split from what is today known as ECAC Hockey, after disagreements with the Ivy League members. 2016 Hockey East Men's Ice Hockey Tournament
The 2016 Hockey East Men's Ice Hockey Tournament was the 32nd tournament in the history of the conference. It was played between March 3 and March 19, 2016 at campus locations and at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The Northeastern Huskies defeated the UMass Lowell River Hawks by a score of 3–2 to earn their 2nd Hockey East championship in school history and earn Hockey East's automatic bid into the 2016 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament. Kevin Boyle was named tournament MVP. Format The tournament will include all twelve teams in the conference. Seeds 1–4 earned a first-round bye, and seeds 5–12 played a best-of-three Opening Round played on campus locations.
