Z 2N Series
The Z 2N (French: ''Automotrice Z à 2 niveaux'', English: ''two-level Z series'') is a family of double-deck electric multiple unit trainsets that are operated on the Réseau Express Régional (RER), a hybrid suburban commuter and rapid transit system and the Transilien, a suburban commuter rail system, both serving Paris and its Île-de-France suburbs. There are five variants of the Z 2N that have been produced: *The Z 5600 is the original version of the Z 2N, it is a single-voltage trainset (1.5 kV DC). 52 trains were built between 1982 and 1985 by , TCF, and TCO. Currently the type is primarily assigned to the RER C line, and the TER Bourgogne-Franche-Comté line. *The Z 8800 added dual-voltage capabilities (1.5 kV DC and 25 kV AC). 58 trains were built between 1985 and 1988 by ANF, CIMT, and TCO. SNCF Class Z 20900
The SNCF Class Z 20900 is a Bilevel rail car, double-deck, Multi-system (rail), dual-voltage electric multiple unit trainset that is operated on RER C, line C of the Réseau Express Régional (RER), a hybrid Commuter rail, suburban commuter and rapid transit system serving Paris and its Île-de-France suburbs. The 54 four-car trains were built by a consortium of France, French manufacturer Alstom and Canada, Canadian conglomerate Bombardier Transportation, Bombardier between 2001 and 2004. The first set was placed into regular passenger service in July 2001. They are the final equipment produced as part of the Z 2N series of trainsets, which were continuously improved over several generations. The introduction of the Z 20900 allowed for the oldest equipment on the RER C to be scrapped. Transilien Line U
Transilien Line U, also known as "La Défense - La Verrière" or more often simply "ligne U", is a tangential commuter train link, which serves the western Paris region from La Défense. It links the Paris's business district of La Défense to La Verrière station, in the south-west of Ile-de-France. It is the only commuter train line in the Transilien network that does not originate from a large Parisian station. The line has 55,000 passengers per weekday in 2014. Nord-Pas-de-Calais (); pcd, Nord-Pas-Calés); is a former regions of France, administrative region of France. Since 1 January 2016, it has been part of the new region Hauts-de-France.
