ZFB-TV (channel 7) is a television station in Hamilton, Bermuda, serving the British territory as an affiliate of ABC. It is owned by the Bermuda Broadcasting Company alongside CBS affiliate ZBM-TV (channel 9). The two stations share studios on Fort Hill Road in Devonshire Parish. History In 1963, three companies applied for a second television station. A commission was set up to receive these applications. The companies were the Atlantic Broadcasting Company, owners of ZFB Radio, the Bermuda Broadcasting Company, owners of ZBM-TV and the Tele Radio Company, headed by television engineer Eugene Woods, who worked at ZBK-TV (channel 10, 1955 to 1959). Bermuda Broadcasting Company
The Bermuda Broadcasting Company Ltd. is a commercial, for-profit broadcasting company located in Bermuda. Sometimes abbreviated locally as "BBC", the Bermuda Broadcasting Company is not related to the BBC, the UK's public broadcasting company. The company was founded in the 1950s and grown to be the largest broadcasting company in Bermuda. It was chaired by Fernance B. Perry, a prominent entrepreneur in Bermuda, until his death. 720p (720 lines progressive) is a progressive HD signal format with 720 horizontal lines/1280 columns and an aspect ratio (AR) of 16:9, normally known as widescreen HD (1.78:1). All major HD broadcasting standards (such as SMPTE 292M) include a 720p format, which has a resolution of 1280×720. The number ''720'' stands for the 720 horizontal scan lines of image display resolution (also known as 720 pixels of vertical resolution). The ''p'' stands for progressive scan, i.e. non-interlaced. The 2017 America's Cup was the 35th staging of the America's Cup yacht race. The challenger, Emirates Team New Zealand, won by a score of 7 to 1 over the defender, Oracle Team USA. It was held on the Great Sound in Bermuda from June 17 to June 26. The races were conducted using Sailing hydrofoil, hydrofoiling AC50, AC50 America's Cup Class yachts, which are slightly larger than the AC45F yachts used in the 2015–16 America's Cup World Series.
