ZFB-05
The ZFB-05 Xinxing () is a Chinese armored personnel carrier developed mainly for the People's Liberation Army Ground Force, the People's armed Police, police forces, Chinese UN peacekeepers, and the export market. It is a simple and low-cost vehicle. The ZFB-05 has a all-steel armored hull, making it marginally effective against small arms fire and artillery shrapnel. Design The ZFB-05 is designed and manufactured by the Shaanxi Baoji Special Vehicles Co., Ltd, a private vehicle company established in 1983 as the Baoji Special Vehicles Factory, then privatized in 2007. Historically, most Chinese military equipment are produced by state-owned enterprises, but due to the strategy of Military-Civil Fusion, many private and civilian enterprises entered the military market, producing weaponry and equipment for the People's Liberation Army. Sofim ( it, Società franco-italiana di motori) is a joint diesel engine enterprise established between Fiat, Saviem (Renault) and Alfa Romeo on 13 September 1974 and was bought by Iveco in 1981. The manufacturing plant is located in Foggia in southern Italy and is nowadays Fiat Powertrain Technologies largest engine plant covering an area of approximately . In 1977 Sofim presented the 8140 diesel engine range: a 2.0-liter (1,995 cc) four-cylinder and 2.4-liter (2,445 cc) four-cylinder . Armor-piercing bullets for rifle and handgun cartridges are designed to penetrate ballistic armor and protective shields intended to stop or deflect conventional bullets. Although bullet design is an important factor with regard to armor penetration, the ability of any given projectile to penetrate ballistic armor increases with increasing velocity. Rifle cartridges typically discharge bullets at higher muzzle velocity than handgun cartridges due to larger propellant charge. The Iveco VM 90 is an Italian multirole military vehicle. It is a hybrid, somewhere between a truck and tactical SUV, manufactured by Iveco, on the base of the Iveco Daily.
