Deniz Yücel (; born 10 September 1973) is a German-Turkish journalist and publisher. He has been a contributor to several German publications, most notably ''Die Tageszeitung'' and ''Die Welt''. Espionage accusations and imprisonment The Turkish government repeatedly accused Yücel of espionage on behalf of Germany's federal intelligence agency, the Bundesnachrichtendienst, and in support of the alleged terrorist organizations FETÖ and PKK. The government further claimed that Yücel aided these two groups in inciting violence in Turkey. In a speech in 2017, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared that Yücel "is a spy, not a journalist". Can Yücel (; August 21, 1926 – August 12, 1999) was a Turkish poet noted for his use of colloquial language. Biography Can Yücel was the son of a former Minister of National Education, Hasan Âli Yücel, who left his mark on the history of education in Turkey, and a grandchild of an Ottoman sea captain who perished with the frigate ''Ertuğrul''. He studied Latin and Ancient Greek at Ankara University and Cambridge. He later worked as a translator at several embassies and in the Turkish language section five years of the BBC in London. After his return to Turkey in 1958, he briefly worked as a tourist guide in Bodrum and Marmaris and then lived in Istanbul, where he worked as a freelance translator and started writing poetry. Mert Yücel is a Turkish electronic music producer from Istanbul. At the age of 22, Yücel produced the first house music album released in Turkey. He his career singles have included; "Dreamer", released on US and UK labels including Baroque Records, Subversive Records, and Choo Choo Records. Yücel Uyar
Yücel Uyar (born 2 April 1960) is a Turkish football coach and former player. In 2011, he was the head coach of the Turkey women's national team. Career A left-back, Uyar played in the TFF Second League team of his home town Samsunspor from 1989 to 1993, ending his active player career at the end of the season. Between 1999 and 2001, he was appointed staff member for developing and training young players at Samsunspor. In the 2001–02 season, Uyar was head coach of the team. After a brief time at Orduspor in 2002, he transferred to Eyüpspor for the 2003–04 season. Returning to Samsunspor in 2004, he took over the responsibility again for the youth and juniors.
