René-Lévesque
René-Lévesque is a provincial electoral district in the Côte-Nord region of Quebec, Canada, which elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It notably includes the municipalities of Baie-Comeau, Forestville and Pointe-Lebel as well as the reserve of Pessamit. It was created for the 1948 election under the name Saguenay from part of the former Charlevoix-Saguenay electoral district. The predecessor to Charlevoix-Saguenay (before 1912) was Chicoutimi-Saguenay. Despite its former name, the district has not included the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region since at least the 1994 election. It was renamed René-Lévesque for the 2003 election, after former Quebec Premier René Lévesque, although its territory was unchanged. 2022 Quebec General Election
The 2022 Quebec general election was held on October 3, 2022, to elect the members of the National Assembly of Quebec. Under the province's fixed election date law, passed in 2013, "the general election following the end of a Legislature shall be held on the first Monday of October of the fourth calendar year following the year that includes the last day of the previous Legislature", setting the date for October 3, 2022. The Coalition Avenir Québec increased its parliamentary majority in the election. The Liberals dropped to their lowest seat count since 1956 and recorded their lowest share of the popular vote in their history; however, they remained the official opposition. Baie-Comeau (; 2021 city population 20,687; CA population 26,643) is a city located approximately north-east of Quebec City in the Côte-Nord region of the province of Quebec, Canada. It is located on the shores of the Saint Lawrence River near the mouth of the Manicouagan River, and is the seat of Manicouagan Regional County Municipality. There are two urban area population centres within the city limits: Baie-Comeau proper, with a population of 9,100, and Hauterive, with a population of 11,147, as of the 2021 Canadian Census.
