Yusuke Nakamura (geneticist)
is a Japanese prominent geneticist and cancer researcher best known for developing Genome-wide association study, Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS). He is one of the world's pioneers in applying genetic variations (Variable Number Tandem Repeat, Variable Number Tandem Repeat (VNTR) and Single-nucleotide polymorphism, Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) markers) and whole genome sequencing, leading the research field of personalized medicine. A myocardial infarction (MI), commonly known as a heart attack, occurs when blood flow decreases or stops to the coronary artery of the heart, causing damage to the heart muscle. The most common symptom is chest pain or discomfort which may travel into the shoulder, arm, back, neck or jaw. Often it occurs in the center or left side of the chest and lasts for more than a few minutes. The discomfort may occasionally feel like heartburn. Whole genome sequencing (WGS), also known as full genome sequencing, complete genome sequencing, or entire genome sequencing, is the process of determining the entirety, or nearly the entirety, of the DNA sequence of an organism's genome at a single time.
