Yuridia Francisca Gaxiola Flores (born 4 October 1986), known mononymously as Yuridia, is a Mexican singer. She came in second place in the fourth season of the reality show '' La Academia'', which launched her career. She is considered as one of the most successful and most listened-to Mexican artists on digital platforms. In 2005, Yuridia released her debut album '' La Voz de un Ángel''. It became the second best-selling album in 2006 and one of the fastest-selling albums of all time in Mexico. It has been certified Diamond since its release. Her second album, '' Habla El Corazón'' was certified Platinum in Mexico after a few weeks of release. '' Entre Mariposas'', Yuridia's third album with original songs, was released in late 2007. ''La Academia'' (''The Academy'') is a Mexican reality musical talent television series shown on TV Azteca, that premiered in June 2002 and is currently in its thirteenth installment. Although the show itself is not affiliated with the Endemol franchise, which includes the " Star Academy" shows, it does share the competition format of many of the variants of the global franchise. Over the first seasons, the show was a reliable dominator of its time-slot, which was shown by its triumph over Televisa's ''Operación Triunfo Mexico'', in several countries including Chile, Peru and Venezuela. ''La Voz'' (Spanish for ''The Voice'') is a Mexican singing competition television series broadcast on Azteca Uno. The show originally premiered 11 September 2011, on Las Estrellas. It is based on the format of '' The Voice of Holland'' originated in the Netherlands and part of the international franchise '' The Voice'' created by television producer John de Mol Jr.. Mexico was the first Spanish-speaking country to adapt this format and the first among 6 globally.
