Yuras Zyankovich
Youras Ziankovich (; born 31 October 1977, Minsk) is a Belarusian opposition politician, journalist and American lawyer. In 2003–2007 he was a deputy of the Minsk Regional Council of Deputies. Biography Born on October 31, 1977, in Minsk. Lived in the village of Zhdanovichi, Minsk District, Minsk Region, Belarusian SSR. Ziankovich graduated from Mathematical School No. 50 in Minsk and entered the Faculty of Applied Mathematics of the Belarusian State University. ''Meduza'' (Russian: Медуза, named after the Greek goddess Medusa) is a Russian- and English-language independent news website, headquartered in Riga, Latvia. Ryhor Kastusioŭ (; ) (17 April 1957 in Tekhtin, Mogilev Region) is a Belarusian politician, head of the Mogilev regional Coalition of Democratic Forces. He was chairman of the Belarusian Popular Front Party from 30 September 2017 until 12 April 2022. Biography After graduating from the Tekhtin secondary school, in 1974 he became a member of the Drut state farm. Alyaksandr Iosifovich Feduta (; born 3 November 1964 in Grodno) is a Soviet and Belarusian politician, literary critic and political scientist. Candidate of Philology, Doctor of Humanities (Poland) in the specialization Literary Studies and one of the authors of the Great Russian Encyclopedia. Biography Graduated from the Faculty of Philology of the Grodno State University (1986), worked as a teacher of the Russian language and literature (1986–1991). Myadzyel or Myadel is a town in Minsk Region, Belarus. It serves as the administrative centre of Myadzyel District. Myadzyel is located on the eastern shore of Lake Miastra, part of the Narach lake group in Narachanski National Park. As of 2025, it has a population of 6,887. History The name of the town is of Lithuanian origin and cognates with the words medis (a tree), medė (a forest), having the same etymology like Medininkai. 2020 Belarusian Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in Belarus on Sunday, 9 August 2020. Early voting began on 4 August and ran until 8 August. Incumbent Alexander Lukashenko was announced by the Central Election Commission of Belarus, Central Election Commission (CEC) to have won a sixth term in office, crediting him with just over 80% of the vote. Lukashenko has won every presidential election since 1994, with all but the first being labelled by international monitors as neither free nor fair. The 2020–2021 Belarusian protests were a series of mass Demonstration (political), political demonstrations and protests against the Government of Belarus, Belarusian government and President Alexander Lukashenko.
