''Street Fighter III'' is a Capcom developed fighting game series and part of their ''Street Fighter'' franchise. Intended as the follow up to ''Street Fighter II'' and its subsequent re-releases, the series began with the arcade release of '' Street Fighter III: New Generation'' in 1997. The games featured a whole new cast, with the only returning members being Ryu and Ken, two characters introduced in the first ''Street Fighter'' video game. Subsequent sequels would add additional characters, with the third game, named '' Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike'' also seeing the return of Chun-Li from ''Street Fighter II''. Conception and design Production at Capcom on the first game in the series started in 1994, and was initially planned to be a separate fighting game franchise entirely. "New Generation" is the third and final single from English rock band Suede's second album, ''Dog Man Star'' (1994). The song was released on 30 January 1995 through Nude Records and was the first single to feature music by new guitarist Richard Oakes. Though the title track is written by Anderson and departed guitarist Bernard Butler, Oakes contributes to "Together" and "Bentswood Boys". is a character in Capcom's ''Street Fighter'' fighting game series who made her first appearance in '' Street Fighter III: New Generation'' in 1997. A woman with close direct ties to nature, she is the daughter of a Kenyan tribal leader who travels the world to make friends while attending school abroad. Since her debut, she has since appeared in various other media such as comics and manga. She was later included in ''Street Fighter IV''s third upgrade, ''Ultra Street Fighter IV'', and as part of the "Year 2" downloadable content lineup for 2024's ''Street Fighter 6''. She has been voiced by Karen Dyer in English, and Kaoru Fujino, Mie Midori, and Saki Fujita in Japanese. Kentarō Itō
is a Japanese voice actor and stage actor who was born in Hachiōji. He is currently affiliated with Mausu Promotion and is representative of Theater Company K-Show. He has taken over some of the roles held by the late Kazuyuki Sogabe and Takeshi Aono. His range is baritone.
