Yuliya Kondakova
Yuliya Andreyevna Kondakova (; born 4 December 1981 in Leningrad, Soviet Union) is a Russian hurdler. At the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's 100 metres hurdles. Her personal bests are 12.73 in the 100 meters hurdles (set at the 2013 World Championships in Moscow) and 7.93 in the indoor 60 meters hurdles (2013). In February 2019, the Court of Arbitration for Sport handed her a four-year ban for doping, starting from 1 February 2019. Sopot
Sopot (; or ) is a seaside resort city in Pomerelia on the southern coast of the Baltic Sea in northern Poland, with a population of approximately 40,000. 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championships
The 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics was the fifteenth edition of the international indoor track and field competition, organised by the IAAF. The event was held between 7–9 March 2014 at the Ergo Arena in Sopot, Poland. Preparation Host bidding The International Association of Athletics Federations, IAAF announced on 1 September 2011 that it had received bids from Poland and Croatia to host the championships. Later Zagreb, Croatia withdrew due to lack of funding. On 11 November 2011 at a Council meeting in Monaco, the IAAF announced that Sopot, as the only remaining bidder, would host the championships. Budapest, Hungary had shown interest but eventually did not bid. Venue The Championships were held at the Ergo Arena, opened in 2010, on the border of the cities of Sopot and Gdańsk. 2013 World Championships In Athletics – Women's 100 Metres Hurdles
The women's 100 metres hurdles at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics was held at the Luzhniki Stadium on 12–15 August. In the heats and semis it was the same two names, now lined up next to each other. Brianna Rollins has set the event on fire all season long, winning the NCAA Championships in the fastest time in the last 20 years and Sally Pearson the defending champion and Olympic champion, who had that same honor before Rollins. In the final it was Pearson out first, but Rollins did what she has done all year, run faster than everybody else. Pearson equalled her season best from the semis in second, Tiffany Porter put in a personal best 12.55 to push Dawn Harper off the medal stand only the second time at a major since the 2008 Olympics. Athletics At The 2012 Summer Olympics
The athletics competitions at the 2012 Olympic Games in London were held during the last 10 days of the Games, on 3–12 August. Track and field events took place at the Olympic Stadium in east London. The road events, however, started and finished on The Mall in central London. Over 2,000 athletes from 201 nations competed in 47 events in total, with both men and women having a very similar schedule of events. Men competed in 24 events and women in 23, of which 21 were the same for both. The women's schedule lacked the 50 km race walk and included 100 m hurdles and heptathlon as opposed to the men's 110 m hurdles and decathlon.
