Yousef Tabatabai Nejad
(Seyyed) Yousef Tabatabai Nejad (sometimes spelled as Tabatabaei-Nejad) is an Iranian Shia cleric and Friday leading prayer that represents the Isfahan Province in Assembly of Experts, Iran's Assembly of Experts. Views In 2015, he said women should be denied working in stores and offices. In 2019, he made municipality of Isfahan to deny women access to bicycles legally shutting down two city bicycle stations. In 2016, he claimed that the act of women taking pictures of themselves in the Zayanderud, Zayanderud river contributed to drought in said river. He is critical of the possible changing of the supreme leader position to the council. On October 1, 2020, while meeting with the Law Enforcement Force of Islamic Republic of Iran, NAJA and the Intelligence Ministry of Iran, he believes that law enforcement should make, "the life of the unveiled unsafe". Acid Attacks On Women In Isfahan
A series of acid attacks on women in the Iranian city of Isfahan starting sometime around October 2014, raised fears and prompted reports that the victims were targeted for not being properly veiled. As of October 27, 2014, at least twenty-five such attacks had occurred in Isfahan. At least one woman died and many more received severe burns to their faces and hands. Following public outrage over the attacks, the Iranian Parliament passed a law in 2019 that provided broader legal protection to survivors and increased the prison term for perpetrators of acid attacks. The attacks were reportedly carried out by 2 unknown assailants riding together on the same motorbike. They wore helmets with visors down to hide their faces and flung acid into the faces of women who were walking or driving automobiles. The Zayanderud or Zayandehrud (; from "fertile" or "life-giver", and "river"), also spelled as ''Zayanderud'' or ''Zayanderood, ...'', is the largest river of the Iranian Plateau in central Iran. Geography The Zayandeh starts in the Zard-Kuh subrange of the Zagros Mountains in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province.
