Yousef Huneiti
Major General Yousef Huneiti ( ar, يوسف الحنيطي) is the current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces. Huneiti was appointed to this position on 24 July 2019. Huneiti is the first Jordanian Air Force commander to be appointed Chief of the Armed Forces. Career He was part of the Jordanian Air Force at King Hussein Air Base in 1978, then at Prince Hassan Air Base in 1981, and H-4 Air Base in 1982. In 1983, he became a fighting pilot, and in 1989, he became a trainer. The Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF; ar, سلاح الجو الملكي الأردني, Silāḥ ul-Jawu al-Malakī 'al-Urdunī) is the aerial warfare branch of the Jordanian Armed Forces. History Early days Jordan gained independence in 1946, but its first air bases had been set up in 1931 by the Royal Air Force. Muwaffaq Salti Air Base - Azraq ( ar, قاعدة الشهيد موفق السلطي الجوية - الازرق ) is a Royal Jordanian Air Force air base located in Azraq, Zarqa Governorate. History In 1918, during World War I, T.E.
