Youri Kayembre Kalenga
Youri Kayembre Kalenga (born March 27, 1988) is a Congolese-French professional boxer. He is the former WBA interim Cruiserweight champion. Professional career On June 21, 2014, Kalenga defeated Mateusz Masternak by twelfth round split decision to win the interim WBA Cruiserweight title. In May 2016 Kalenga was stopped by Yuniel Dorticos in the 10th round in a fight for the vacant interim WBA title. Max-Schmeling-Halle is a multi-purpose arena, in Berlin, Germany, named after the famous German boxer Max Schmeling. Interim Championship
An interim championship is an alternate title that is awarded by the sanctioning bodies of professional boxing, and in other combat sports such as kickboxing, professional wrestling, and mixed martial arts. Occasionally, the champion of a particular weight division is temporarily unable to defend their championship because of medical, legal, or other reasons beyond the competitor's control. When this case occurs, two highly ranked contenders may fight for an interim championship of the same weight division – leading to two champions existing in the same weight division simultaneously. Once the original champion can return, at the discretion of the sanctioning body or promotion concerned, they must defend their title against the interim champion - who will relinquish their interim title to fight for the full world title. Denis Aleksandrovich Lebedev (; born 14 August 1979) is a Russian former professional boxer who competed from 2001 to 2019. He was a unified world cruiserweight champion, having held the WBA title from 2012 to 2018, and the IBF title in 2016. Professional career Early career Lebedev turned pro in 2001.
