"Your Imagination" is a song written by Brian Wilson, Joe Thomas and Steve Dahl for Brian Wilson's 1998 solo album ''Imagination''. An alternate version of "Your Imagination" with slightly different lyrics and Steve Dahl singing lead was occasionally played in the late 1990s on Dahl's Chicago-based radio shows on WLUP-FM and WCKG. Brian Wilson supplied the vocals on both lead and harmony through overdubbing. The lyrics refer obliquely to nostalgia for The Beach Boys ("another car running fast; another song on the beach," "I took a trip to the past"), while the arrangement references The Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper" with the piccolo trumpet in the chorus. Brian Wilson
Brian Douglas Wilson (born June 20, 1942) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer who co-founded the Beach Boys. ''Imagination'' is the third solo album by American musician Brian Wilson. It was issued in 1998 on Giant Records and distributed by Warner Music Group. The album received mixed reviews upon its release and its commercial performance was relatively weak. Its best-known track is " Your Imagination", a Top 20 hit on adult contemporary radio. The second single, "South American", was co-written by Jimmy Buffett. Wilson dedicated the song "Lay Down Burden" to his brother Carl Wilson, who succumbed to cancer earlier in the year. Giant Records was launched in 1990 as a joint venture between Warner Bros. Records and record executive Irving Azoff. Joe Thomas (producer/director)
Joseph Thomas (born ) is an American producer, director, businessman, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter based in Illinois. He is known for musical collaborations and subsequent lawsuits pertaining to musician-songwriter Brian Wilson, co-founder of the Beach Boys. Thomas was producer and director of the PBS music program ''Soundstage'' for WTTW. He also wrestled under the name Buddy Love. ''Stars and Stripes Vol. 1'' In the mid 1990s, Thomas was enlisted to co-produce the Beach Boys' ''Stars and Stripes Vol. 1'', an album consisting of country music stars covering Beach Boys songs. Steven Robert Dahl (born November 20, 1954) is an American radio personality. He is the owner and operator of the Steve Dahl Network, a subscription-based podcasting network. Dahl gained a measure of national attention after organizing and hosting Disco Demolition Night at Comiskey Park. Originally, Dahl broadcast with Detroit stations WABX and WWWW and later with Chicago stations WCKG, WDAI, WLUP, WMVP and WLS. He served as a columnist for the ''Chicago Tribune'' in their ''Live'' section as the resident "vice advisor" until November 2010. "Wonderful" is a song by the American rock band the Beach Boys from their 1967 album '' Smiley Smile'' and their unfinished '' Smile'' project. Written by Brian Wilson and Van Dyke Parks, the song tells the story of a young girl's sexual awakening and its disruption of her devotion to God and her parents. Piccolo Trumpet
The piccolo trumpet is the smallest member of the trumpet family, pitched one octave higher than the standard B trumpet. Most piccolo trumpets are built to play in either B or A, using a separate leadpipe for each key. The tubing in the B piccolo trumpet is one-half the length of that in a standard B trumpet. Piccolo trumpets in G, F, and even high C are also manufactured, but are rarer.
