Youngsuk Chang
Chang "FreedoM" Youngsuk (born April 26, 1988) is a South Korean professional esports player of the real-time strategy games ''StarCraft'' and ''WarCraft III''. He is known by his pseudonym ''FreedoM'' or FreeDoM. Chang entered the E-sports world in 2004 where he started his career playing as the Night Elf race in the game ''WarCraft III''. Chang represented South Korea in ''WarCraft III'' at the World Cyber Games 2004, winning the 2004 national Korean qualifier. In 2005, he once again placed first on the World E-sports Festival. After the "MBC Map Scandal" where maps were rigged in order to make the Orc race more powerful, Freedom decided to quit playing WarCraft III and move onto playing StarCraft in 2006. Since then, his team Samsung Khan, won the championship for the StarCraft Pro-League 2006–2007 season. Currently he is one of the most successful Korean poker players. Jang, Chang and (less often) Zang are romanizations of the common Korean surname . As of the South Korean census of 2015, there were 1,021,107 people by this name in South Korea or 2.05% of the population. Romanization In a study by the National Institute of the Korean Language based on 2007 application data for South Korean passports, it was found that 84.5% of people with this surname spelled it in Latin letters as Jang in their passports. The Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) is a major international series of poker tournaments established in 2007 and hosted in cities across the Asia Pacific. Along with other major tours such as the European Poker Tour and Latin American Poker Tour, the Asia Pacific Poker Tour is sponsored by PokerStars. StarCraft Pro-League
StarCraft II Proleague, also known as StarCraft Proleague or Proleague for short, was the longest running StarCraft league in the world and the most prestigious team league. Hosted by the Korean eSports Association (KeSPA), the league was played offline in South Korea. Proleague began in 2003 with the game StarCraft: Brood War before switching over to StarCraft II in 2011 and then discontinued in 2016. It was broadcast by SPOTVGames prior to being discontinued.
