''Young Desire'' is a 1930 American pre-Code drama film directed by Lewis D. Collins and written by Winnifred Reeve, C. Gardner Sullivan, and Matt Taylor. The film stars Mary Nolan, William Janney, Ralf Harolde, Mae Busch, George Irving, and Claire McDowell. The film was released on June 8, 1930, by Universal Pictures. Plot Determined to change her own life, dancer Helen runs away from the carnival show where she worked. In the meantime, she falls in love with a wealthy young man, Bobby, but his parents oppose their relationship. Plot with Spoiler Helen Herbert works as a dancer in a carnival show. Determined to change her life and find a more dignified existence, she flees from her despotic boss, Blackie. While attempting to steal some oranges out of hunger, she meets Bobby Spencer. Pre-Code Hollywood was an era in the Cinema of the United States, American film industry that occurred between the widespread adoption of sound in film in the late 1920s and the enforcement of the Motion Picture Production Code censorship guidelines (popularly known as the Hays Code) in 1934. Charles Craft
Charles Craft (May 9, 1902 – September 19, 1968) was an English-born American film and television editor. Born in the county of Hampshire in England on May 9, 1902, Craft would enter the film industry in Hollywood in 1927. The first film he edited was the Universal Pictures silent film, ''Painting the Town''. Over the next 25 years, Craft would edit 90 feature-length films. In the early 1950s he would switch his focus to the small screen, his first show being ''Racket Squad'', from 1951 to 1953, for which he was the main editor, editing 93 of the 98 episodes. He would work on several other series during the 1950s, including ''Meet Corliss Archer'' (1954), ''Science Fiction Theatre'' (1955–56), and ''Highway Patrol'' (1955–57). Carl Laemmle (; born Karl Lämmle ; January 17, 1867 – September 24, 1939) was a German-American film producer and the co-founder and, until 1934, owner of Universal Pictures.
