Youbel Sondakh
Youbel Sondakh (born 19 August 1983) is an Indonesian professional basketball coach who is the head coach for Satria Muda Pertamina of the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL). He is a former professional player. Personal life Studied at Perbanas Institute and graduated in 2008. Sondakh married a former Karateka Jenny Zeannet. Professional career During his pro career, Sondakh faced articular cartilage damage that influenced his decision to retire in 2012 at the age of 28. Coaching career Sondakh's coaching career began in 2012 when he took on the role of coach at Satria Muda Junior after his retirement. In 2014, Sondakh was entrusted with the position of assistant coach to accompany Tjokorda Raka. Youbel then took over as head coach in the 2017 season and succeeded in winning his first title as a coach in 2018 after beating Pelita Jaya Jakarta in the finals. Indonesian Basketball League
The Indonesia Basketball League (IBL; ) is the preeminent men's professional basketball league in Indonesia, founded by Indonesian Basketball Association (Perbasi) in 2003. From 2010 to 2015 it was known as the National Basketball League (NBL) and organised by DBL Indonesia. In 2016, PT Bola Basket Indonesia acquired Starting5 and after that PT Bola Basket Indonesia assigned by PP Perbasi to organised the league. History Origin Basketball has a long history in Indonesia. Noted since the 1930s, although not yet officially an independent country, several cities in Indonesia have their own local clubs. Indonesia Men's National Basketball Team
The Indonesia men's national basketball team represents the Republic of Indonesia in international basketball competitions. The governing body of the team is the ''Persatuan Bola Basket Seluruh Indonesia'' ( Indonesian Basketball Association – ''PERBASI''). Its biggest success was the gold medal at the 1996 South East Asian Championship. Team Indonesia is one of the major teams in Southeast Asia. The team finished among the top-four teams in Asia at the 1967 Asian Basketball Championship. At the 1996 SEABA Championship, Indonesia was the dominant country and won the gold medal. At the 1997 SEA Games in Jakarta, Indonesia failed to get a medal. Then, two years later Indonesia won the bronze medal at the Brunei 1999 SEA Games.
