You Enjoy Myself
"You Enjoy Myself", commonly abbreviated to "YEM", is a Phish song written by Trey Anastasio, first played live on February 3, 1986. It is the band's most frequently performed song, having been played at about 33% of their first 1,800 shows. History Trey Anastasio wrote "You Enjoy Myself" while in Florence, Italy. The title came from an Italian man, befriended by Anastasio and Jon Fishman, who wrapped his arms around them near the Uffizi museum and exclaimed, "you know, when I am with you, you enjoy myself!" A short, a cappella version of "You Enjoy Myself" appeared on ''The White Tape'', Phish's debut album. A longer, full-band version appeared on their album ''Junta''. Live versions (especially after 1995) have regularly exceeded 25 minutes in length. Fans have dubbed sections of the song with names like "Pre-Nirvana," "Nirvana," "The Note," "The Second Note" and "The Charge." When the song is performed live, one section features Anastasio and bassist Mike Gordon jumping on ...

Live Phish Volume 9
''Live Phish Vol. 9'' was recorded live at the Townshend Family Park in Townshend, Vermont on August 26, 1989. When the band begin choosing concerts for the Live Phish Series, guitarist Trey Anastasio required at least one release from the 1980s. This three-set concert, performed late on a summer afternoon in August, seems to be the most fitting representation of 1980s Phish since almost all of the band's concert staples from the era are represented. ''Live Phish Vol. 9'' marked the first time that "Colonel Forbin's Ascent", "Fly Famous Mockingbird", "McGrupp and the Watchful Hosemasters" (as filler), and "The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday" had appeared on a commercially available Phish release. This 1989 show saw Phish enmeshed in a progressive rock phase, as many multi-part epics and large scale compositions are littered throughout, beginning with the show-opening "Fluffhead" suite. At the end of the second set, Anastasio announces that the band is going to "let the sun go do ...

List Of Phish Songs
This is an incomplete list of original songs composed by the rock band Phish. Certain "sections" of songs have been played separately from time to time, but are not listed below. For instance, the middle section of "Guelah Papyrus" was sometimes played by itself under the name "The Asse Festival.” Before "The Moma Dance" had lyrics, it was called "Black-Eyed Katy.” “Shafty" was once called "Olivia's Pool,” and featured a different arrangement. "Taste" was once known as "The Fog That Surrounds" and contained a slightly different arrangement. And many sections of the multi-part epic "Fluffhead" have been played outside of the song. Some of these sections include "Clod", "The Chase", "Who Do? We Do!!" and "Bundle of Joy.” Phish also performed several songs by The Dude of Life, a friend and collaborator of the band, but those are not listed here, with the exception of songs that The Dude of Life purposely gave to Phish for use in their catalog. Also, songs from the band's sol ...

Chicago '94
''Chicago '94'' is a live album by the rock band Phish. It contains two complete concerts on six CDs, and was recorded at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois on June 18 and November 25, 1994. It was released by JEMP Records on July 31, 2012. Critical reception On Allmusic, Fred Thomas wrote, "These two-track soundboard recordings (remastered for this release) find Phish in one of their more playful and energetic times, rising to the height of their popularity and playing together with almost telepathic synchronicity. They were also at some of their most athletic levels of playing, with set lists full of their most frenetic tunes and most epic jams.... These shows are absolutely on fire, and a clear choice for the kind of expansive retroactive issue that warrants a six-disc box set.... e level of energy put forth over the course of ''Chicago '94'' is undeniable, and the high points are some of the most brilliant in the band's catalog." On All About Jazz, Doug Collette said, ...

Colorado '88
''Colorado '88'' is a 3- CD live album from the rock band Phish, recorded over several nights in summer 1988. Despite having only traveled outside Vermont occasionally, in the New England college and club circuit, Phish embarked on a tour in the west. The band played seven shows in ten days to tiny crowds in small bars and restaurants in the ski towns of Telluride and Aspen. ''Colorado '88'' collects, in chronological order, the best of those shows, providing a vivid glimpse into the days before the three and four-night stands at amphitheaters and arenas that would distinguish Phish in the years to come. Mastered from the original analog cassette tapes, ''Colorado '88'' contains recordings of songs that had not previously been widely traded or heard with such clarity. Several of the tracks in the collection had never before appeared on an official Phish release. In 2018, new tapes of these shows were found, all of which were in full. History When Phish arrived in Colorado, they ...
