You (season 1)
The first season of the American psychological thriller television series ''You (TV series), You'', based on the You (Kepnes novel), novel of the same name by Caroline Kepnes, was ordered by Lifetime (TV network), Lifetime in April 2017. It stars Penn Badgley, Elizabeth Lail, Luca Padovan, Zach Cherry and Shay Mitchell. The 10-episode first season, which premiered on September 9, 2018, was produced by A&E Studios, in association with Alloy Entertainment, Berlanti Productions, and Warner Bros. Television, Warner Horizon Television; the showrunners were Greg Berlanti, Sera Gamble and Leslie Morgenstein. Synopsis The first season follows Joe Goldberg, a bookstore manager in New York, who meets Guinevere Beck, an aspiring writer, with whom he becomes immediately infatuated. Sera Gamble is an American television writer and producer, best known for her work on Lifetime/Netflix's ''You'', Syfy's '' The Magicians'' and The CW's ''Supernatural''. Early life Born in New York City, Gamble was briefly raised in Cincinnati before moving to Redlands, California. She graduated from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. Career Before turning to film and television, Gamble starred in stage productions of ''Will Strip for Food'' in Los Angeles and Dublin, Ireland. She produced and starred in a stage production of ''Eve of Paradise'', written and directed by Raelle Tucker. Leslie Morgenstein is the President and Founder of Alloy Entertainment, a creator and producer of books, television, and film. The Los Angeles and New York–based production company officially became part of Warner Bros. Television Group in 2012. Morgenstein previously served as President of the company's predecessor, 17th Street Productions, Inc. starting in 1999.
