Biography Tomura was a member of the Satake clan and his father is . He was born in Yokote in May 1849. On August 3, 1868, when his father became a chief retainer of the Kubota Domain, he was handed over to Yokote Shodai. In the Boshin War, Tomura participated in the as he fought against the Ōuetsu Reppan Dōmei forces attacking Yokote Castle at the age of 19 without reinforcements from the main clan and the Ouetsu Governor's Office, but surrendered in the . was a former rural district located in southern Akita, Japan. On October 1, 2005, its remaining components, the towns of Kawabe and Yūwa merged into the city of Akita, upon which Kawabe District was dissolved and ceased to exist as an administrative unit. Kubota Domain
was a Han (Japan), feudal domain in Edo period Japan, located in Dewa Province (modern-day Akita Prefecture), Japan. It was centered on Kubota Castle in what is now the city of Akita, Akita, Akita and was thus also known as the . It was governed for the whole of its history by the Satake clan. During its rule over Kubota, the Satake clan was ranked as a family, and as such, had the privilege of Shōgun, shogunal audiences in the Great Hall (''Ohiroma'') of Edo Castle. In the Boshin War of 1868–69, the domain joined the Ōuetsu Reppan Dōmei, the alliance of northern domains supporting the Tokugawa shogunate, but then later defected to the imperial side. The was a Japanese military-political coalition established and disestablished over the course of several months in early to mid-1868 during the Boshin War.
