Yondu Udonta (Marvel Cinematic Universe)
Yondu Udonta, or simply Yondu (), is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The original version of the character is depicted as the last survivor of his species, a spiritual warrior who can control his arrows through sound waves, and a founding member of the original Guardians of the Galaxy from the 31st century of the alternate reality of Earth-691. In other media, Yondu has appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, portrayed by Michael Rooker, and the ''Guardians of the Galaxy'' animated series, voiced by James Arnold Taylor. The former version is a cyborg and member of the Ravagers and was later incorporated into the comics continuity, depicted as the first Yondu's ancestor. Star-Lord (Peter Jason Quill) is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. In the fictional Multiverse (Marvel Comics), Marvel Comics multiverse, Earth-616 is the primary continuity (fiction), continuity in which most Marvel Comics titles take place. Origins of the term The designation "Earth-616" has its origins in Captain Britain comics from the early 1980s and can be attributed to both Dave Thorpe and Alan Moore. The term was first used in "Rough Justice", a story credited to both Alan Moore and Alan Davis published in July 1983 by Marvel UK in the seventh issue of the anthology comic ''The Daredevils'' (and was later reprinted in the ''Captain Britain'' trade paperback). Defenders (comics)
The Defenders are a set of superhero groups with rotating membership appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. They are usually presented as a "non-team" of individualistic "outsiders" who, in their prior adventures, are known for following their own agendas. The team often battle mystic and supernatural threats. Its original incarnation was led by Doctor Strange and included Hulk, Namor, and Silver Surfer. They first appeared as the Defenders in '' Marvel Feature'' #1 (Dec. 1971), before receiving their own title, '' The Defenders'', in 1972.
