Players Angel Bastardo Angel Jose Bastardo (born June 18, 2002) is a Venezuelan professional baseball pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball (MLB). He is ranked 27th on Major League Baseball's 2025 Top 30 Blue Jays prospects list. On July 2, 2018, Bastardo signed with the Boston Red Sox as an international free agent when he was 16 years old for a $35,000 signing bonus. The Rule 5 draft is a Major League Baseball (MLB) player draft that occurs each year in December, at the annual Winter Meeting of general managers. In baseball or softball, a strikeout (or strike-out) occurs when a batter accumulates three strikes during a time at bat. It means the batter is out, unless the third strike is not caught by the catcher and the batter reaches first base safely as a result. A base on balls (BB), better known as a walk, occurs in baseball when a batter receives four pitches during a plate appearance that the umpire calls '' balls'', and is in turn awarded first base without the possibility of being called out. A run batted in or runs batted in (RBI) is a statistic in baseball and softball that credits a batter for making a play that allows a run to be scored (except in certain situations such as when an error is made on the play). The Dominican Summer Blue Jays are a baseball team in the Dominican Summer League. The DSL is a rookie level circuit, and therefore the team is a rookie affiliate. The team plays in the San Pedro de Macorís division.
