Yilan-class Patrol Vessel
The ''Yilan''-class patrol vessel is a pair of heavy patrol vessels of the Coast Guard Administration of Taiwan. Overview They have a max crew of 50. The vessels have advanced quieting and interior noise control. History The two ships of the class, ''Yilan'' and ''Kaohsiung'' were commissioned together on June 6, 2015. The original plan was for one vessel to primarily be deployed to the East China Sea and for one to primarily be deployed to the South China Sea. Vessels ''Yilan'' (CG128) The first vessel of the class is named Yilan (CG128). ''Kaohsiung'' (CG129) The second vessel of the class is named ''Kaohsiung'' (CG129). In June 2020 ''Kaohsiung'' and another coast guard vessel detained a large Chinese sand dredging vessel which had been illegally harvesting sand in Taiwanese waters. Jong Shyn Shipbuilding Company
Jong Shyn Shipbuilding Company (JSSC) is a Taiwanese shipbuilder based in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. It is the largest private shipbuilder in Taiwan. History Jong Shyn Shipbuilding Company was founded in 1973. By 2009 they had built more than 400 ships. In 2009 JSSC received orders for more than twenty ships between 500-tons and 2,000-tons from the Coast Guard Administration (Taiwan) (CGA). In 2015 JSSC launched two 3,000-ton patrol ships for the CGA, the ''Yilan'' (CG 128) and ''Kaohsiung'' (CG 129). JSSC is participating in the development of a Taiwanese domestic AUV. They have delivered Taiwan's first locally designed and built drilling vessel. The ''Polaris Australis'' was delivered to Dragon Prince Hydro-Survey Enterprise Co and Dragon Prince in 2017. Cheng Kung-class Frigate
The ''Cheng Kung''-class frigates are eight guided-missile frigates in service in the Republic of China Navy (ROCN). They are based upon the U.S. and built by China Shipbuilding Corporation in Kaohsiung, Taiwan under license throughout the 1990s as part of the Kuang Hua I project. These frigates served as the mainstay of the ROCN's area air defense capability prior to the acquisition of the ''Keelung'' (''Kidd'')-class destroyers in 2005. Chiayi-class Patrol Vessel
The ''Chiayi''-class patrol vessel is a heavy patrol vessel of the Coast Guard Administration of Taiwan. Four ships are planned. All four are planned to be constructed by CSBC Corporation, Taiwan. Description The class has a helipad and hangar which can accommodate a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter. It is equipped with a medical center with a negative pressure area, a surgery suite, and a x-ray facility. History The procurement is part of a decade long coast guard shipbuilding project with a projected budget of NT$42.6 billion ($1.4 billion). The budgeted cost of the four 4,000 ton patrol vessels is NT$ 11.74 billion (US$392 million). Delivery of all four is planned to be completed by 2025. Sand mining is the extraction of sand, mainly through an open pit (or sand pit) but sometimes mined from beaches and inland dunes or dredged from ocean and river beds. The Coast Guard Administration of the Ocean Affairs Council (CGA; ), also known as the Taiwan Coast Guard or R.O.C.
