Yerevan Opera Theatre
The Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre (), simply known by locals as , is an opera theatre in Yerevan. It officially opened on 20 January 1933, with a performance of Alexander Spendiaryan's opera '' Almast'' as its first show. The opera building was designed by architect Alexander Tamanian. It consists of two concert halls: the Aram Khatchaturian Concert Hall with 1,400 seats and the Alexander Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet National Theatre with 1,200 seats. Theatre The ground-breaking of the Opera Theatre took place on 28 November 1930 on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Soviet Armenia. On 20 January 1933, the building was officially opened. Vanoush Khanamirian
Vanoush Gerasimich Khanamirian (, November 5, 1927 – October 5, 2011) was an Armenian ballet, traditional and folkloric dance choreographer. Career Khanamirian started as a ballet dancer, his first major performance was in the wedding scene of a famous Armenian ballet production '' Anoush''. He grew to love the art of dancing and began to play major solo parts in different ballet productions. Khanamirian became very famous, playing numerous ballet solos throughout the Asian continent and abroad. He was later appointed to be the Artistic Leader of the State Dance Ensemble of Armenia. For over twenty years Khanamirian led the Dance Ensemble of Armenia to be one of the best in the former Soviet Republic. Aquarium (band)
Aquarium or Akvarium (; often stylized as Åквариум) is a Russian rock group formed in Leningrad in 1972. The band is considered one of the founders of Russian rock. Aquarium has had many line-up changes over its history, and lead singer and founder Boris Grebenshchikov is the only remaining original member. Former band members include Anatoly Gunitsky, Mikhail Feinstein, Andrei "Dyusha" Romanov, Vsevolod Gakkel, and Sergey Kuryokhin. John McLaughlin (born 4 January 1942), also known as Mahavishnu, is an English guitarist, bandleader, and composer. A pioneer of jazz fusion, his music combines elements of jazz with rock, world music, Classical music, Western classical music, flamenco, and blues. Armen Tigranian or Tigranyan or Dikranian (; 26 December 1879, Alexandropol – 10 February 1950, Tbilisi) was an Armenian composer, conductor and sociocultural activist. His best-known work is '' Anoush'', premiered in Alexandropol in 1912. It is the first opera ever performed in Armenia. Early years Tigranian was born in Alexandropol in the Russian Empire (present-day Gyumri, Armenia). Composer Vardan Tigranyan (1906–1974) and architect Edmond Tigranyan were his sons.
