Yeng Constantino
Josephine "Yeng" Eusebio Constantino-Asuncion (born December 4, 1988) is a Filipino singer, songwriter, composer and guitarist. She is referred to as the ''Philippines Pop Rock Royalty'' and is regarded as one of the biggest hitmakers in Philippine music industry. In 2006, she won the title "Grand Star Dreamer" in the inaugural season of ''Pinoy Dream Academy'', the Philippine edition of Endemol's reality TV show ''Star Academy''. Constantino is among the most critically acclaimed and best-selling Filipino artists of all time. Throughout her career, she was honored with around 70 accolades and recognitions including a FAMAS Award, 7 Awit Awards, 9 Myx Music Awards and 5 PMPC Star Awards for Music among many others. ''Salamat'' is the debut studio album of the Filipina singer-songwriter Yeng Constantino. It was released on January 19, 2007, through Dream Big Productions and Star Music. It reached its Gold status in February of the same year and reached 3× Platinum with sales of 90,000 copies. The album has five number ones, the only female artist in the Philippines with the most number one hits in 2007. And the album produce six top ten hits. The album has 10 tracks. 7 were originally composed by Yeng, 2 were written by her co-scholars in Pinoy Dream Academy and one is a rendition of Freddie Aguilar's OPM classic, "Bulag, Pipi at Bingi". "Hawak Kamay" (Hand in Hand; literally "''Holding Hands''") is a song by Filipina singer-songwriter Yeng Constantino, the winner of the ABS-CBN TV program ''Pinoy Dream Academy'' in 2006. Solely written by Constantino, the song is about a cousin with whom she developed a deep friendship. In 2006, it won the Best Theme Song at the 32nd Metro Manila Film Festival.
