Yello
Yello is a Swiss electronic music band, which formed in Zürich in 1979. For most of the band's history, Yello has been a duo consisting of Dieter Meier and Boris Blank; founding member Carlos Perón left in 1983. Their sound is often characterised by unusual music samples and a heavy reliance on rhythm, with Meier as vocalist and lyricist, and Blank providing the music. Among their best known singles are "Oh Yeah" (1985), which has appeared in many films and television shows including '' Ferris Bueller's Day Off'', '' The Secret of My Success'', '' Uncle Buck'' and ''The Simpsons''; and " The Race" (1988), which peaked at number 7 on the UK Singles Chart. Boris Blank (born 15 January 1952) is a Swiss artist and musician. Career Blank was born on 15 January 1952 in Bern, Switzerland. He is the musical part of Yello. He composes the songs and is responsible for the characteristic sound, having the reputation of a perfectionist. Vicious Games is a song by Swiss group Yello, released in 1985. It was released as the second single from Stella. Vicious Games appears on the band's compilation album Essential Yello. Background Vicious Games was released on 27 February 1985, with a video shot in Yello's Rote Fabrik (Red Factory) working space, featuring Blank and actress Mirjam Montandon miming to Rush Winters' vocals (Winters was not available for the video shoot). Dieter Meier (born 4 March 1945) is a Swiss industrialist, musician and conceptual artist. He is the frontman of the electronic music group Yello, which was co-founded (with ex-member Carlos Perón) by music producer Boris Blank. The Palladium (originally called the Academy of Music) was a movie theatre, concert hall, and finally nightclub in New York City. It was located on the south side of East 14th Street, between Irving Place and Third Avenue. Designed by Thomas W. Lamb, it was built in 1927 across the street from the site of the original Academy of Music established by financier Moses H. Grinnell in 1852.
