Yasuda Kinen
The Yasuda Kinen (English: Yasuda Memorial, Japanese and Chinese language: 安田記念) is a Japanese Graded stakes race, International Grade I Thoroughbred horse race held at the Tokyo Racecourse in Tokyo. Raced annually each June, the Yasuda Kinen is run at a distance of eight furlongs (one mile) on grass, turf and is open to horses three years of age and up. The event was first run in 1951 as the Yasuda Sho in honor of Izaemon Yasuda, the founding chairman of the Japan Racing Association. Following Yasuda's death in 1958, the race name was changed to the Yasuda Kinen. In 1984 the race was promoted to Grade 1 status and in 1993 it was granted International Grade 1 status. In 2005, the race became the final leg of the Asian Mile Challenge. In addition to the US$1 million first place purse, another US$1 million bonus is given to any horse who wins two legs of the four-race Asian Mile Challenge. Bullish Luck
Bullish Luck ({{zh, c=牛精福星) (foaled 1999) is a Hong Kong–based Thoroughbred racehorse. Bred in Kentucky, he is the son of the 1990 Breeders' Cup Mile winner Royal Academy and out of the Alysheba mare Wild Vintage. He was sold by his breeders at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale to Gordon Smyth who named him "Al Moughazel" and sent him to Newmarket for training under Pip Payne. Sold to Wong Wing-keung of Hong Kong, his name was changed to Bullish Luck. In his first few years of racing, the colt met with only modest success. However, at age five he began to demonstrate real promise, winning the Group I 2004 Hong Kong Gold Cup and finishing second to Alexander Goldrun in December's Hong Kong Cup. Brett Prebble (born 23 September 1977) is an Australian jockey, currently based in Melbourne, Victoria. Having ridden over 1200 career winners, Prebble's most famous win came aboard Green Moon in the 2012 Emirates Melbourne Cup. Personal life Prebble was born in Ballarat, Victoria. Agnes Digital (foaled May 15, 1997 – December 8, 2021) is an American born Japan-based Thoroughbred racehorse and the winner of several notable Grade 1 races, including the 2001 Tenno Sho (Autumn), the 2001 Hong Kong Cup, and the 2003 Yasuda Kinen. Career Agnes Digital's first race was on September 12, 1999, where he came in 2nd at Hanshin Racecourse. He picked up his first win at the same course on October 2. He decided to become a jockey after watching Green Grass win the Kikuka Sho. Kazuo Fujisawa
(born September 22, 1951, in Tomakomai, Hokkaido, Japan) is a retired trainer of Thoroughbred race horses. He had been a licensed trainer in Japan since 1987 and from 1993 until his retirement in 2022 has won the training title eleven times. Three of the horses he trained were voted Japanese Horse of the Year on four occasions: Taiki Shuttle (1998), Symboli Kris S (2002, 2003) and Zenno Rob Roy (2004). Fujisawa was also the trainer of Casino Drive, who won the 2008 Peter Pan Stakes at Belmont Park in New York. Fujisawa retired from horse training on February 28, 2022 as he had reached the age of retirement, with his stable winning the 1,570th race on the day of his retirement. The horses that belonged to the Fujisawa stable at the time were transferred to Masayoshi Ebina's newly created stable. Norihiro Yokoyama (; Born February 23, 1968) is a Japanese jockey. As of May 2024, he is the oldest jockey in Japan to win a Group One, Grade I race. Background Norihiro was born in a family heavily involved in horse racing, with his father, being a jockey, as well as his elder brother being a retired jockey and teacher at the Horse Racing School. Two of Norihiro's sons, Kazuo Yokoyama, Kazuo, and Takeshi Yokoyama, Takeshi, are also jockeys. (born July 30, 1966, in Tōhoku, Aomori) is a Japanese Horse racing jockey. He is a three-time champion jockey of Kantō, riding to 2,000 victories in his career. He comes from a racing family; most notably his uncle , who was a prolific jockey who won over 4,000 races during his career. He rode his first winner in 1985, on ''Izumi-Sanei'' at Nakayama.
