Yao Li-ming
Yao Li-ming (; born 15 January 1952) is a Taiwanese political scientist, politician, and political commentator. Life and career Yao is of Mainland Chinese descent. He attended the Affiliated Senior High School of National Taiwan Normal University before studying law at Fu Jen Catholic University, and subsequently earned a doctorate in the subject at Bielefeld University. Prior to serving in the Third Legislative Yuan, Yao hosted a political talk show for the Public Television Service and was an adjunct instructor at National Sun Yat-sen University. He represented Kaohsiung County in the Legislative Yuan from 1996 to 1999. After Yao withdrew from the New Party during his legislative term, he remained in office as a political independent. Mainland Chinese or Mainlanders are Chinese people who live in or have recently emigrated from mainland China, defined as the territory governed by the People's Republic of China (PRC) except for Hong Kong ( SAR of the PRC), Macau (SAR of the PRC), and the partly-PRC-controlled South China Sea Islands ( uninhabited and disputed), and also excluding certain territories that are claimed by the PRC but not controlled, namely Taiwan aka the "Republic of China" (ROC), which is a state with limited recognition, and other associated territories that are ruled by Taiwan (namely Fujian Province (ROC) and the Taiwan-ruled South China Sea Islands). Sean Lien or Lien Sheng-wen (; Taiwanese: Liân sìng-bûn; born February 4, 1970) is a member of the Central Standing Committee of the Kuomintang of the Republic of China (Taiwan). He is co-founder of Evenstar Capital and he previously served as chairman of the Taipei Smart Card Corporation, the company which operates EasyCard. Family Sean Lien is the eldest son of Lien Fang Yu and Lien Chan, who served as the Chairman of the Kuomintang party and was the Vice President of Taiwan. He is the grandson of Lien Chen-tung, and the great grandson of Lien Heng. He has a brother and two sisters. He is married to Patty Tsai. Yao Wen-chih (; born 4 December 1965) is a Taiwanese politician also known by the appropriated Tsou name Pasuya Yao. A member of the Democratic Progressive Party, he served in the Legislative Yuan from 2012 to 2018. Political career Yao, a former journalist, was named the minister of the Government Information Office in March 2005. By 2006, he had stepped down. 2014 Taipei City mayoral campaign Yao ran for the mayoralty of Taipei City in the 2014 local elections. The Kuomintang (KMT), also referred to as the Guomindang (GMD), the Nationalist Party of China (NPC) or the Chinese Nationalist Party (CNP), is a major political party in the Republic of China, initially on the Chinese mainland and in Taiwan after 1949.
