Yannis Brown
Yannis Brown is an Australian composer and sound designer for portable devices and consoles. He grew up in Adelaide, Australia. He began playing keyboards by ear at the age of 4 and started composing music around the age of 13. He then moved on to writing MOD tracker formats on the Amiga since 1989 and later IBM PC around 1993. He was heavily involved with the music part of the Demoscene and ran Groovy Compo - a bi-weekly tracker based internet competition first started by Mick Rippon. He also entered other similar competitions, including The Trackering. Brown has since joined the game industry as a composer and sound designer and has written music for several handheld platforms including: Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance, PlayStation Portable, Palm OS, Pocket PC, Tapwave Zodiac and mobile phones such as the Nokia N-Gage, iOS and Android; notably, in 1999, he wrote the soundtrack for '' South Park Rally'' and for composing and porting the score from '' Dragon Ball Z'' to ''L ... The N-Gage is a mobile device combining features of a cellular phone and a Handheld game console, handheld game system developed by Nokia, released on 7 October 2003. Officially nicknamed the ''game deck'', the N-Gage's phone works on the GSM cellular network, and software-wise runs on the Series 60 platform on top of Symbian OS v6.1. N-Gage attempted to lure gamers away from the Game Boy Advance by including telephone functionality, including SMS texting, in an "all-in-one" device. Game software was packaged in a MultiMediaCard to be inserted into the N-Gage's slot. ''Bejeweled'' is a 2000 match-three video game developed and published by PopCap Games. ''Bejeweled'' involves lining up three or more multi-colored gems to clear them from the game board. Mazera is an adventure game created by Cold River Studios and published by Astraware for Palm OS and Pocket PC. The player plays Ix, who as a boy was captured by an alien race called the Mazerians and imprisoned in their zoo, until one day something happens that gives him a chance to escape. Playfish was a short-lived developer of free-to-play social network games. Playfish was founded in 2007 by Kristian Segerstråle, Sebastien de Halleux, Sami Lababidi, and Shukri Shammas.
