Yannick Bellon
Marie-Annick Bellon, usually known as Yannick Bellon, (6 April 1924 – 2 June 2019), was a French film director, editor and screenwriter. Initially known for her documentary film, documentary work, in 1972 she made her first feature film, ''Quelque part quelqu’un'' (''Somewhere, Someone''), presenting contemporary views of Paris. She went on to make several more feature films, including ''Rape of Love, L'amour violé'' (''Rape of Love'') with its feminist insights in 1978 and ''Les Enfants du désordre'' in 1989, evoking the difficulties a drug addict experiences when trying to return to normal life. Early life and family Born on 6 April 1924 in Biarritz, Marie-Annick Bellon was the daughter of Jacques Bellon, a magistrate, and Denise Bellon, Denise Simone Hulmann, a photographer. Nicole Védrès (4 September 1911 – 20 November 1965), born Nicole Henriette Désirée Charlotte Cahen dit Nathan dit Rais, was a French author, columnist, essayist, journalist, screenwriter and film director. Life and work Védrès was born on 4 September 1911 in Paris. An important figure in the post-war French cultural world, she signed several articles under different names, including “Nathan” and “Rais.” Nicole Vedrès was the daughter of :fr:Jules_Rais, Jules Rais, doctor of law, librarian of the Chamber of Deputies and art critic, and Ludmila Savitzky, of Russian origin and who was a translator of works by James Joyce. Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette (; 28 January 1873 – 3 August 1954), known as Colette or Colette Willy, was a French author and woman of letters. She was also a Mime artist, mime, actress, and journalist. Colette is best known in the English-speaking world for her 1944 novella ''Gigi (novella), Gigi'', which was the basis for the Gigi (1958 film), 1958 film and the Gigi (musical), 1973 stage production of the same name. Her short story collection ''The Tendrils of the Vine'' is also famous in France. Albert Dubout
Albert Dubout (15 May 1905 – 27 June 1976) was a French cartoonist, illustrator, painter, and sculptor. Biography Albert Dubout was born in Marseille. After attending school at Nîmes (where he met Jean Paulhan) he studied at the fine arts school in Montpellier where he met his first wife, Renée Altier, and where his first drawings were published in the student journal ' in 1923. After moving to Paris, literary director Philippe Soupault was the first to hire him to illustrate a book, ' by Nicolas Boileau-Despréaux.
