Yang Yang (conductor)
Yang Yang (杨洋) is the Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra. Yang has conducted more than 20 domestic and foreign symphony orchestras. Yang started his career in 1998 at the first Beijing Musical Festival, and continued to conduct there for the next seven years. From 2000 to 2005, Yang held the position of Assistant Conductor at the China Philharmonic Orchestra, and is currently their Assistant Art Director. He became the Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra in 2009. Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra
Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra () was founded on December 25, 2007 and completed its establishment on April 20, 2009, with Deng Jingshan as the President, Yang Yang as the Artistic Director and Chief Conductor, Guan Haochuan and Lin Shangzhuan as the Vice President. Besides, Ning Feng, the famous violinist, and Qin Liwei (Chinese: 秦立巍), the famous cellist, are the Resident Artists of the Orchestra while Xue Biao is the Concertmaster and Xu Weiling the Guest Concertmaster. The Beijing Music Festival (BMF) is an annual music festival held in Beijing which according to the Chinese Ministry of Culture (China), Ministry of Culture has become one of the most well-known musical events in the world, drawing international attention. According to Chinaculture.org the festival presents about 30 concerts in October every year offering a wide variety of Classical music, classical and jazz music, jazz music including opera, Orchestral music, orchestral, Chamber music, chamber, solo (music), solo, and Choral music, choral concerts. BMF also gives prominence to music education and community engagement offering free children's concerts and students' concerts, as well as master classes which draw about 6,000 music students, teachers, and spectators. China Philharmonic Orchestra
The China Philharmonic Orchestra (; abbreviated CPO) is an orchestra founded in Beijing, China, on May 25, 2000, based on the previous China Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra. It is a division of the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television (SARFT) of the People's Republic of China. Its inaugural concert was held on December 16, 2000, conducted by artistic director Long Yu. Their first season included the world premiere of Philip Glass' Cello Concerto No. 1 performed by Julian Lloyd Webber, and the symphonic Beijing opera '' Women Generals of the Yangs'' by Du Mingxin, their first commissioned symphonic work. The CPO has gone on several world tours, performing in some of the top classical music venues in the United States.
