Yang Chin-long
Yang Chin-long (; born 5 June 1953) is a Taiwanese economist and the current Governor of the Central Bank of Taiwan. Early life and education Yang was born and raised in Pingtung County to family of poor farmers. As a child, he was a pitcher for a local Little League Baseball chapter. He completed compulsory military service in the Republic of China Marine Corps. Yang graduated with a bachelor's degree in banking and a master's degree from National Chengchi University. He then completed graduate studies in England, where he earned his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Birmingham in 1989. Career After receiving his doctorate, Yang began working for the Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Yang was named deputy governor of Taiwan's central bank in 2008. Richard C. Koo (, ; ; born 1954) is a Taiwanese economist living in Japan specializing in balance sheet recessions. He is Chief Economist at the Nomura Research Institute. Shea Jia-dong (; born 9 October 1948) is a Taiwanese economist. Early life and education Shea was born in Tainan County in 1948. After graduating from National Tainan First Senior High School, he enrolled in National Taiwan University and graduated with his bachelor's degree in economics in 1960 and his master's degree in economics in 1974. Shea then completed graduate studies in the United States at Stanford University, where he earned his Ph.D. in economics in 1978. He initially studied international trade but switched to economics. His doctoral dissertation was titled, "The policy implications of the government budget constraint in an optimal accumulation model".
