Yahir Othón Parra (born 21 March 1979), simply known as Yahir, is a Mexican singer and actor from Hermosillo, Sonora. He began his career as one of the participants in the music reality show '' La Academia'' in 2002 and in addition to Yuridia, also from Hermosillo, is one of the most popular stars to come from the show. He became a judge of the show's tenth season. Personal life Yahir's mother converted from Roman Catholicism to Jehovah's Witnesses, and although he was brought up in his mother's faith he no longer practices it. He says that despite their differing beliefs his mother is now one of his biggest fans. Yair Vardi
Yair Vardi (; 29 May 1948 – 25 May 2025) was an Israeli dancer and choreographer, a member of the second generation of the Batsheva Dance Company. He was the Director of the Suzanne Dellal Centre for Dance and Theatre. Biography Vardi was born in May 1948, in Kibbutz Kfar Blum in the Upper Galilee. In 1977 he was awarded the Kinor David Prize. He danced with Ballet Rambert in London and later started his own company, English Dance Theatre, as well as a center for dance called Dancity in Newcastle, England. After 12 years away from Israel, he returned to become the Director of the Suzanne Dellal Centre upon its founding. Vardi died on 25 May 2025, at the age of 76. Yair Tzaban (; born 23 August 1930) is an Israeli politician, academic and social activist. Biography Tzaban was born in Jerusalem in 1930. During the 1948 Palestine War he fought in the Palmach. He was among the founders of Kibbutz Tzora, near Jerusalem. In the 1950s, after moving to Tel Aviv, he studied in Seminar HaKibutzim (a teacher's college) and worked as a teacher and youth educator in the poor suburbs of Tel Aviv. Tzaban holds a BA degree in Jewish and General Philosophy from Tel Aviv University. For 45 years Tzaban has been politically active. Yair Tauman (; born January 20, 1948) is a professor of Economics at State University of New York, Stony Brook and the Director of the Stony Brook Center for Game Theory. Yair Rosenblum (; January 6, 1944 – August 27, 1996) was an Israeli composer and arranger. Early Life Rosenblum was born in Tel Aviv. He served his military service in The Nahal Band, which would ultimately be where his musical career began. Music career Rosenblum was the musical director of the Israel Defense Forces chorus in the 1960s and 1970s. He directed Israel's annual music festivals. For the army and navy ensembles of the Israel Defense Forces, he oversaw conducting and wrote music. He is best known for such songs, including ''Shir LaShalom'' (1970). He composed songs for films and television, and worked with a number of bands and choral groups, including primarily the IDF bands.
