Yahk Provincial Park is a provincial park located just south of Yahk, British Columbia, 70 kilometres south of Cranbrook, and 14.5 kilometres north of the Canada–United States border at Kingsgate in British Columbia, Canada. History The park was established 1956. The area was once a major supplier of railroad ties for the Canadian Pacific Railway. The park serves as both an introduction to British Columbia for tourists entering from the United States and a scenic day use area and camping location for travelers following the southern trans-provincial highway. Yahk is an unincorporated hamlet in southeastern British Columbia, Canada, just north of the Canada-U.S. border. Yahk Provincial Park borders the village to the south. Cranbrook ( ) is a city in southeast British Columbia, Canada, located on the west side of the Kootenay River at its confluence with the St. Mary's River. It is the largest urban centre in the region known as the East Kootenay. As of 2016, Cranbrook's population is 20,047 with a census agglomeration population of 26,083. The Moyie River is a long tributary of the Kootenai River (spelled Kootenay River in Canada) in the U.S. state of Idaho and the Canadian province of British Columbia.
