Yadah Stars FC are a football club from Harare, Zimbabwe currently playing in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League is the top professional division of the Zimbabwe Football Association. It was founded in 1980, as a successor to the 1962 formed ''Rhodesia National Football League.'' It is currently sponsored by Delta Beverages ..., the top flight of Zimbabwean football. Yadah Stars were the first church-owned football team to reach the Zimbabwe top flight after they won the 2016 Zifa Division One Eastern Region. However, the church pulled out of sponsorship after the 2017 season. History Yadah FC was originally formed as Gunners in 2005 by Cuthbert Chitima. The National Sports Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium, in Harare, Zimbabwe, with a maximum capacity of 60,000 people. It is the largest stadium in Zimbabwe, located in Harare, just a Few meters from Heroes Acre. It is used mostly for football matches, but is also used for rugby union. Association football club CAPS United F.C. use the venue, which opened in 1987, for most of their home games. Overview The stadium played host to Amnesty International's Human Rights Now! Benefit Concert on October 7, 1988. Walter Magaya is a Zimbabwean sect leader and self-proclaimed prophet known for his fraudulent claims about curing HIV/AIDS, financial exploitation, and multiple allegations of sexual abuse. He is the founder of Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries (P.H.D), which he uses as a vehicle for personal enrichment rather than genuine religious or spiritual leadership. Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League is the top professional division of the Zimbabwe Football Association. It was founded in 1980, as a successor to the 1962 formed ''Rhodesia National Football League.'' It is currently sponsored by Delta Beverages under the Castle Lager brand and hence is known as Castle Lager Premier Soccer League. The current sponsorship deal runs from 2011 and is worth $3.6 million. The league consists of 18 teams listed below, that play a total of 34 matches. The season runs from April to November. Most matches are played during weekends on Saturdays and Sundays. Postponed matches are played midweek. At the end of the season four teams are relegated into the lower division and an equal number promoted. Moses Chunga (born 17 October 1965) is a retired Zimbabwean footballer who played as a midfielder for Dynamos, Eendracht Aalst and the Zimbabwe national football team.
