XxxHolic (miniseries)
''xxxHolic'' (also known as ) is a 2013 Japanese supernatural dark fantasy drama miniseries based on a manga series with a same name written and illustrated by manga artist group CLAMP. The miniseries stars Anne Watanabe and Shōta Sometani as Yuko Ichihara and Kimihiro Watanuki respectively. The miniseries was broadcast on Wowow from February 24, 2013, and ended on April 16, 2013. Premise ''xxxHolic'' follows the story of Kimihiro Watanuki, a high school student that is plagued by ayakashi spirits, where he stumbles upon a shop that grants wishes. Ayakashi (yōkai)
is the collective name for ''yōkai'' that appear above the surface of a body of water. In Nagasaki Prefecture, the atmospheric ghost lights that appear above water are called ayakashi, and so are the funayūrei in Yamaguchi Prefecture and Saga Prefecture. In western Japan, ayakashi are said to be the vengeful spirits of those who died at sea and that they are attempting to capture more people to join them. On Tsushima Island, they are also called "atmospheric ghost lights of ayakashi (ayakashi no kaika)", and appear on beaches in the evening, and are said to look like a child walking in the middle of a fire. Kimihiro Watanuki
is a fictional character introduced in the manga '' xxxHolic'', created by the group of manga artists known as Clamp. Watanuki is a high school student plagued by his ability to see spirits. In order to lose such powers, Watanuki begins to work for Yūko Ichihara, a witch who will grant his wish once he pays the price for her services. Such jobs often involve Watanuki encountering other spirits attracted by him. Apart from ''xxxHolic'', Watanuki is featured in the crossover manga '' Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle'', which explores his origins.
