Xukurú Language
Xukuru (Xucuru, Shukurú, Ichikile, ) is a poorly attested extinct language of Brazil. It was also known as ''Kirirí, Kirirí-Xokó'', and ''Ichikile''. It is known only from a few word lists and a sketch by Geraldo Lapenda (1962).Lapenda, Geraldo Calábria. 1962O dialecto Xucuru ''Doxa'' (Revista Oficial do Departamento de Cultura do Diretório Acadêmico da Faculdade de Filosofia de Pernambuco da Universidade do Recife), ano X, n. 10, p. 11-23. It was originally spoken in the Serra de São José and on the Do Meio River (Paraíba), Meio River, Capibaribe River and Taperoa River in the states of Pernambuco and Paraíba. Loukotka (1968) reports the most recent locations as the :pt:Serra do Ororubá, Serra Ararobá and Cimbres. Classification Loukotka (1968) considers Xukurú to form a Xukuru languages, small family with Paratió language, Paratió and Garanhus. Katembri Language
Katembri (''Catrimbi'' ic ''Kariri de Mirandela, Mirandela'') was a divergent language of Bahia, northeastern Brazil that appears to be distantly related to Taruma (Kaufman 1990). It is known only from about 100 words collected in the early 1960s from João Manoel Domingos, an elderly rememberer with vague memories of the language. Dzubukuá Language
Dzubukuá (Dzubucua), or Kiriri, referred to by the community as Kariri-Xocó, is an extinct Karirian language of Brazil. It is sometimes considered a dialect of a single Kariri language. Since 1989, there is a process of linguistic revitalization underway; the Tingui-Botó people claim to use Dzubukuá in their secret Ouricuri ritual. Kiriri people are indigenous peoples of Brazil, indigenous people of Eastern Brazil. Xokó Language
The Xokó are an Indigenous people of northeastern Brazil, whose traditional territory is centered along the lower São Francisco River, primarily in the state of Sergipe, with historical connections to neighboring Alagoas. The Xokó are among the few remaining native groups in this region. Territory and population The Xokó inhabit the Ilha de São Pedro (Island of St. Peter) in the municipality of Porto da Folha, Sergipe, and some surrounding mainland communities. They are thought to be the only Indigenous group inhabiting the state of Sergipe. Their population is estimated at around 340 people, though numbers may vary.
