Tyler Andrews (born February 21, 1984), better known by his stage name Xperience, is an American hip hop recording artist from Detroit, Michigan, who is currently based in Seattle, Washington. He is a member of the hip hop group Oldominion and is a frequent collaborator with fellow Pacific Northwest hip hop artist Macklemore. Early life Xperience spent his formative years moving back and forth between Hammond, Indiana, East Chicago, Indiana, and Olympia, Washington. Musical career Xperience first came to the attention of the Pacific Northwest hip hop scene when he independently released the album ''Soul Tree'' in 2004. Alternative Hip Hop
Alternative hip hop (also known as alternative rap) is a subgenre of hip hop music that encompasses a wide range of styles that are not typically identified as mainstream. AllMusic defines it as comprising " hip hop groups that refuse to conform to any of the traditional stereotypes of rap, such as gangsta, bass, hardcore, and party rap. Instead, they blur genres drawing equally from funk and pop/rock, as well as jazz, soul, reggae, and even folk."
